Life’s brighter when you snog

The British winter is on its way and we know how it can cause a bit of wintry chaos as we transition from the relaxing summer. We always want our shops to bring a portion of health, warmth and positive vibes to your day to help eradicate those winter blues. This is where our friend and extremely talented illustrator Giedre Domzaite helps to create such a place where our new winter campaign ‘Life’s brighter when you snog’ comes to life. The bright and bold colours used to bring our toppings to life in her creative take on a healthy, warming and positive world will certainly brighten up even the most uninspiring day. We find it hugely rewarding working with new artists, they keep our shop fresh, interesting and evolving. Giedre’s artwork is now on show in all Snog shops and on our Twitter page for you to admire.
Hello, my name is Giedre Domzaite. Originally from Lithuania, I graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts and initially moved to London attracted by its creative energy. I decided to settle in the city – finding it a fascinating place for people watching. I find the enormous diversity of expression such an inspiration for my character design. Old folk snoozing on buses, city workers in pinstripes, wild eyed revelers in fancy outfits; the city is full of eccentrics and hopefully you can recognise them in my illustrations.
I approach every project as a unique and special endeavour, trying to develop a different feeling and style for each. This way I can also learn something new every time I work on a project.
Working on the large format illustrations for Snog was a very enjoyable experience not only because of the scale this project provided to play with shapes and colours, but also in the challenge of defining a line between cute, quirky and childish. I loved the idea of an imaginary frozen yogurt land full of fruit monster inhabitants – dizzy blueberries, lazy pear, party animal pistachio; they’ve all found a place here in Snog.
